We spoke to Managing Directors Dan Smith and Steve Barrett to find out about how their year has gone at South West Business Finance:
The Highs
We have been able to support many of our existing clients and new clients with their lending applications and structures providing vital support and cashflow during the challenging times. Overall, we have sourced over £150 million worth of lending and we are extremely proud of the Team’s tenacity to search the market and find solutions in a tricky lending landscape.
This year we also celebrated 8 years in business and welcomed two more Partners to the Team. We have signed up to the Women in Business Charter and continue to champion and promote diversity in our business.
We have seen a marked increase in the buy-to-let business which we have been able to source for clients nationally via our sister brand Aspire Property Finance. For all things BTL and Auction Finance please take a look at www.aspirepropertyfinance.co.uk for more hints and tips and useful information. We are also delighted to grow the business further with our new Residential Mortgage offering via Aspire Mortgage Consultants.
Finally, we have raised over £10,000 for our chosen charity Prostate Cancer UK. We are very proud of our Teams involvement in raising this figure whether it be through ‘March to month’ where some of the Team completed 11,000 steps per day in March, our Charity Golf Day at Cumberwell Park or our Sponsored Cycle where the Team completed 500 miles on exercise bikes in one day! Thank you to everyone that have supported and donated to this extremely worthwhile cause.
Award Winners!
We have been the proud recipient of the ‘Buy to Let Broker of the Year’ at the NACFB Awards and were also ‘highly commended’ in the Rising Star Category. We are so delighted to be recognised in front of both our industry body and our peers for these awards.
We also continue to be proud sponsors of the Bath Property Awards and Exeter Property Awards.
The Lows
This year has probably been one of our most challenging yet with a context of rising energy prices, interest rates, inflation and uncertainty. We continue to support our clients through this changing landscape and will always look at how best to support them and help them to respond to this rising cost and uncertain environment.
We are happy to have a chat with any business owner, property investor or developer to give our thoughts on the lending landscape or how best to source finance or structure lending to get the best result with these changing factors. We have access to over 200 lenders in the market place and pride ourselves on our knowledge of the market and ability to find solutions for our clients, whether that be from business loans to support cashflow to commercial deals to property investment and development transactions.
Our advice for 2023 would be to please get in touch if you would like some advice or to chat anything through, it is much easier to have a look at the whole picture of your business structure and lending to be able to provide solutions and suggestions, then we can get on with finding out the answers while you run your business.
Finally…thank-you!
We are looking forward to working with any client in 2023; helping them achieve their financial goals is very rewarding and is what makes us come to work every day!
We would like to thank all our Partners, Introducers, Lenders and Clients for their support in 2022 and we look forward to working with you all in 2023
